What's New for Sports Planners in Sioux Falls
There’s a lot of new things in Sioux Falls, including some great new sports facilities. Here’s a breakdown of what's new and what can be expected soon.
Sanford Diamonds
The Sanford Sports Complex has seen an explosion of growth in recent years, and the Sanford Diamonds is one of the newest additions. The Sanford Diamonds consists of a total of ten turf fields (five for baseball and five for softball.) All fields include lighting, bullpens, scoreboards and more.
Sanford Crossing
Also new at the Sanford Sports Complex is the Sanford Crossing, which includes eight multipurpose turf fields for soccer, lacrosse, and a variety of other sports. These fields also can be lit for night games.
Tomar Park Tennis Complex
The recent addition of 12 tennis courts at Tomar Park has made the park a go-to spot for tournaments and recreation play. The park has lights for the tennis courts and ample parking.
Linda Erickson Pickleball Complex
The Linda Erickson Pickleball Complex recently opened at the Avera on Louise Health Campus, featuring 12 courts, as well as a large parking lot and a public restroom for players.
Huether Family Match Pointe Expansion
Huether Family Match Pointe currently has expanded its facility with four additional tennis courts, which now gives it 10 total indoor courts. Located at the Sanford Sports Complex, this facility is equipped with lighting, locker rooms, and a mezzanine for spectating.
New Hotels Coming to Sanford Sports Complex
A new 86-room Comfort Inn & Suites has opened at the Sanford Sports Complex, making it a convenient location for those attending athletic events at the Complex.
Midco Arena
Augustana University has added a Division I Men’s Hockey to its athletic teams, and with that came a brand-new facility, Midco Arena. Located on the campus of Augustana University, this 3,000-seat arena includes a luxury club area, 12 suites, locker rooms, puck shooting room, and more.
